Notification-focused monitoring workspace representing filtered competitor price alerts

If you track competitor prices, you have probably felt this: an email every 30 minutes because a rival’s price moved by a few cents. That is not insight, it is noise. Smart price alerts in Snoopie fix that. You choose how big a price move must be before Snoopie emails you. The default is 10%, enough to catch real strategy shifts without drowning in micro-changes.

What are smart price alerts?

Smart price alerts, also called price-change alerts, let you set a percentage on price monitoring alerts. Snoopie still checks competitor prices on its normal schedule. If the move is below your setting, Snoopie stays quiet. When the move reaches or exceeds it, you get an email with the old and new price. It applies to Shopify product price alerts, Shopify store and collection price alerts, and Amazon product price alerts. It does not apply to non-price alerts like product added, removed, or details changed.

How to configure it

When creating a new alert: open Create Alert, choose a price-related alert type, and you will see Price change threshold with a default of 10%. Change it to 5% for tighter or 20% for looser monitoring, then save. On existing alerts: your dashboard shows a threshold column for price alerts; click Edit on any row to change it without recreating the alert.

When does Snoopie send an alert?

Snoopie compares the current price to the last price you were emailed about. Example at 10%: a move from 50 to 52 dollars (4%) sends no email; a move from 50 to 44 dollars (12%) sends an email; a move from 50 to 45 dollars (exactly 10%) sends an email; and 0% means email on every change. Up and down both count. For collection alerts, the email includes only products that crossed the line.

Why merchants love it

Less alert fatigue. You stay in control per competitor. It works everywhere you monitor prices, including Amazon. And there is no guesswork - you can see and edit it on your dashboard.

Example - the competitor who always tweaks

One merchant tracked a competitor whose prices bounced a few cents every cycle. They set 10%: daily wiggles went silent, and a real 15% clearance produced one clear email. Same monitoring, better signal.
